“At Hayle Academy, as pupils progress through the school, sporting opportunities will continually be made available from taster lessons in the primary years, to competitions in later years, when pupils may have begun to show a preference or talent for the sports of their choice.
"We recognise that sport plays a vital roll in teaching children team spirit, self discipline and sportsmanship; not forgetting the fact that competing in any sport can provide great enjoyment and satisfaction. Judo will be one of the many sports available.”

“We are very proud of our awe inspiring dojo, previously a chapel, where judo and many other inside sports will be taught. People do not need to be judo experts: in fact, they may never have been on a judo mat before. However the ethos and ideals of this ancient martial art support the ethos and ideals of the school and the judo mat is an excellent teaching ground for all that is important in sport and life.
"The school motto - Cum Dignitate, Disciplina, Honore – With Dignity, Discipline and Honour – truly reflects the importance of this sport. We aim to develop a sense of self-worth, self control, spiritual awareness, moral values and respect for others in every pupil.”
